Went to Dr. Glass this morning for the fiirst time, Mike O recommended him and he is one kick ass chiropractor. He was super cool to get me in and zeroed in on my neck issues directly. Couple snaps later and I felt much better. Then off to do a small shoot for a local magazine of this artist in Pomfret. I had no idea what to expect, but her place was way off in the woods off a dirt road and it was amazing. She and her husband had re-done the house and it was situated on a hill top overlooking a pond and a stand of birch trees. Her art installations were all over the property and in the house, very organic stuff using branches, trees, leaves, etc. And to top it all off she had this incredible hot bath/swimming pool in a side room. It was about 12 feet across and 25 feet long and was full of steaming hot water circulating through. I guess she has some joint problems. I did not want to leave the room, I almost stripped and jumped in. The facing wall was all glass and looked into the woods. Pretty great.
The shoot was fine too.
Tried my new fork, Marathon SL, this afternoon. Ran it in the 120mm configuration and it was really nice. But the riding was super sketchy. My trails were covered with leaves and in spots it was like riding on ice. Oak leaves are especially slippery and I almost ate it hard a couple times as my tires grabbed leaves and the leaves didn’t stick to the ground, so I kept skidding. Oh, it was also cold today, like 28 at ride tiime, my toes and fingers were numb by the end of the ride ooops. The big news, it my first ride with the iPod, even though I’ve had it for a year. I liked it, though I cannot imagine riding the road with one. Listened to Mos Def and Offspring during the ride.
