Drove 5.5 hours over to Bangor, ME yesterday (can’t get there from here) to do some writing/shooting for Mountain Bike. In case you don’t live on the East Coast, yesterday was the hottest, most humid day of the summer. So we head out for this ride, me carrying my camera kit in a backpack, and it was the most insanely technical trail I’ve ever been on. I mean, rocky, rooty, narrow, twisty. The works. To make matters crazier, for some reason I brought my singlespeed which I haven’t ridden much ever and at all since April. So I flailed spectacularly, rode like a total rookie, pretty funny. The guys I rode with were awesome, pretty understanding, and didn’t make fun of me (to my face at least).
Then I hiked up Mt Elmo, to shoot Justin(pictured) and Sprinkles for some DH action. It got dark in a hurry, and a storm rolled in, so the shooting was spotty at best. But I am definitely going back there this fall, the foliage shooting will be amazing. The ride scene in Bangor is great, a total hidden gem up there.
After the sun finally set on the day I drove down to Dover to stay with H-Bomb, got there just shy of 1 AM. Woke up and went to Nashua for a meeting with an outdoor company I’m going to be working with. That went great and now I’m back at the desk, processing a gazillion images I’ve taken in the past 10 days. I think I need a shower. Yup, I do.
